About Dr. Baird
Before Dr. Baird became a Clinical Psychologist more than 20 years ago she worked as a teacher and researcher. Self-inquiry and curiosity were driving forces in her decision to work in psychology. She completed her internship at Lenox Hill Hospital and then accepted a two year fellowship in Women’s Health and Trauma at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Dr. Baird continued to work in research and as a supervisor at Columbia University’s New York State Psychiatric Institute, and later as a Supervising Psychologist at Beth Israel Medical Center. She has also taught Psychological Assessment at the New School for Social Research.
Dr. Baird’s heart is in her Insightful Psychology clinical practice, as she has worked in Westchester for over 20 years, and has served the Rye community for more than 15 years. In addition to her background in Clinical Psychology teaching and research, her work is informed by her 30 year practice of yoga and meditation. She is trained as a Mindfulness Meditation teacher, Mindful Self-Compassion teacher, and completed the certificate course at the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy affiliated with the Cambridge Health Alliance and Harvard Medical School in 2020. Dr. Baird’s longstanding interest in the mind-body connection motivated her to incorporate Biofeedback and Neurofeedback into her therapeutic work.
